Michelle De Swarte

Michelle De Swarte

Comedian

Michelle de Swarte is a comedian, writer, actor and presenter whose work is defined by sharp observation, distinctive storytelling and an effortlessly magnetic presence across stage and screen.

Raised in South London, Michelle’s career began after being scouted as a model at nineteen, taking her around the world before she returned to the UK and found her voice in stand-up comedy. Drawing on a breadth of lived experience, her comedy is intelligent, candid and unflinchingly funny.

Michelle has since become one of the UK’s most original creative voices, building an acclaimed career across television and live performance. Her screen credits include Netflix’s The Duchess, the lead role in HBO/Sky’s The Baby, and the critically recognised BBC comedy series Spent, which she created, wrote and starred in.

Equally at home in front of live audiences and on screen, Michelle has appeared on programmes including Live at the ApolloThe Last Leg and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, earning recognition for her distinctive perspective and singular comic style.

With a voice that is both fearless and deeply engaging, Michelle de Swarte continues to create work that is bold, contemporary and unmistakably her own.
