Elena Leshcheva

Elena Leshcheva is a London based fashion designer and garment technician. As a first generation immigrant, she grew up with a strong connection to garment making through her mother, who worked as a tailor in her home country before moving to the UK. This early exposure to tailoring developed her understanding of clothing through making and continues to influence her approach to fashion.

Her practice combines traditional garment-making skills with playful and experimental approaches to construction, textiles and surface. Drawing on history, cultural references and personal experiences, her work explores transformation, self expression and the ways clothing can be altered, reinterpreted and worn outside of its expected conventions.
