Bodhi Rae Breathnach

Bodhi Rae Breathnach is an Irish-English actress who has already established herself as one of the most exciting new talents to emerge in 2026. Breathnach’s feature film debut is in the critically acclaimed 8 x Oscar nominated Hamnet (2025), directed by Chloé Zhao. In the film, she portrays ‘Susanna Shakespeare’, the eldest daughter of William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) and Agnes Hathaway (Jessie Buckley). Her performance in the Golden Globe-winning production earned her significant praise for its depth and poise alongside its established stars. Beyond her film work, Breathnach has already made a notable impact on stage and television. She delivered a “star-making turn” as ‘Sarah’ in Beth Steel’s Olivier-nominated play Till the Stars Come Down at the National Theatre in London, and as ‘Grace Flynn’ in BBC1’s The Capture starring Holliday Grainger.

This year she has three high-profile film releases. She is the co-lead with Jason Statham in Shelter (Black Bear) released in cinemas on 30th January playing the role of ‘Jessie’ also starring Bill Nighy, Harriet Walter, Daniel Mays and Naomie Ackie. The film follows a reclusive man who must protect a young girl from his violent past. In September, she stars as ‘Margaret Dashwood’ in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY (Working Title Films) a new adaptation of the Jane Austen classic directed by Georgia Oakley starring alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, George Mackay and Catriona Balfe. Lastly, she has Robert Eggers’ Werwulf (Focus Features) starring alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe, releasing December 25th.
