Lashana Lynch

Lashana was most recently seen starring in the SKY/Peacock series, The Day of the Jackal, opposite Eddie Redmayne. Based on the novel of the same name, audiences follow the hunt for ‘The Jackal,’ (Redmayne), a notorious assassin. The task of finding him is led by ‘Bianca,’ (played by Lynch), a tenacious MI6 law enforcement agent who is determined to catch him. Lashana also served as executive producer on the show. The series broke viewership records for SKY with the first episode reaching an audience of 4.5 million, cementing its place as the biggest Sky original released ever. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award in the category of Best Drama Series.

Lashana was also seen in Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Bob Marley: One Love opposite Kingsley Ben-Adir. The biopic covered the life of the iconic musician, Bob Marley (Ben-Adir), primarily during the making of the 1977 studio album Exodus. Lashana was seen in the role of ‘Rita Marley,’ the matriarch of the Marley dynasty in a “moving” performance, as hailed by Variety.

Lashana will next be seen in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s American fantasy, Children of Blood and Bone, based on the novel by Tomi Adeyemi.

She is soon to be seen as a series regular in Peaky Blinders for Netflix opposite Jamie Bell and Charlie Heaton. 

Most notably, Lashana was seen in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s No Time To Die, alongside Daniel Craig and Rami Malek. In this latest instalment of the James Bond franchise, Bond (Craig) has left active service, but his peace is short-lived when a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology (Malek) needs to be tracked down. Lynch played ‘Nomi,’ the new 007 agent which earned her BAFTA’s prestigious EE Rising Star Award for her body of work.

Past film projects include Gina Prince-Bythewood’s The Woman King; Matthew Warchus’ Matilda the Musical; her role in the MCU of ‘Maria Rambeau’ as seen in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels, Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Boden & Fleck’s Captain Marvel; debbie tucker green’s ear for eye, which marked Lashana’s third collaboration with green and is the film adaptation of the play of the same name at the Royal Court in 2018 with Lashana seen as the lead role; as well as Regan Hall’s Fast Girls.

On television, Lashana was the breakout in Shonda Rhimes’ ABC period drama series, Still Star-Crossed, in the leading role of ‘Rosaline Capulet.’ Based on Melinda Taub’s book of the same name, the series follows ‘Rosaline’, Juliet’s cousin in 16th century Verona, who is betrothed to ‘Benvolio Montague’ against their will by ‘Prince Escalus,’ in order to end the feud between the two families. 

On stage, Lashana was seen in ‘a profoundly affectionate, passionate devotion to someone (-noun)’, ‘ear for eye’, both written and directed by debbie tucker green at the Royal Court Theatre in London. She also gained rave reviews for her performance in Educating Rita at the Chichester Festival Theatre where she played the iconic title role opposite Sir Lenny Henry. She is also well-known for her role as ‘Tybalt’ in Romeo And Juliet for the Royal National Theatre’s The Shed.
