Ixchel

16 – 20 September | This September, Ixchel on King’s Road presents Interwoven, a month-long exhibition celebrating contemporary Mexican female artists as part of the Chelsea Arts Festival.

Bringing together painting, ceramics and textiles by Alicia Paz, Ana Benavides, Andrea Segura, Paola Estrella, Regina Torres and Rita Fernández, the exhibition explores the diverse perspectives and visual languages of contemporary Mexican womanhood.

Inspired by Ixchel, the Maya goddess of weaving, Interwoven brings together distinct artists, practices and perspectives in a collective celebration of Mexican creativity, craft and identity. The exhibition will also feature textile works by Caralarga and Onora, presented in collaboration with Latin American talent house Casa Agape.

Set within Ixchel’s vibrant restaurant space, the exhibition invites visitors to experience contemporary art alongside food, conversation and culture. All works are available to purchase.
