London Theatre Review

Join The London Theatre Review at the Royal Court Theatre for a live recording of the award-nominated podcast, to find out what you should see (and what you should avoid) in Theatreland right now.  And this very special one-off recording features special guest interviews with two of British theatre’s most compelling voices – in-depth conversations offering rare insight from both sides of the curtain. Hear from a performer treading the line between screen, stage and standup, and from an artistic director and playwright shaping the future of new writing.

Alongside the usual news, show reviews and quizzes, LTR hosts Nancy Durrant, Nick Curtis and Nick Clark will be joined by acclaimed actor Ambika Mod, soon to appear at the Royal Court in the hotly anticipated Porn Play. She will discuss everything from her early days crafting comedy material for the Edinburgh Fringe to her breakout television success in This is Going to Hurt and the global phenomenon that was Netflix’s One Day – as well as her imminent return to live theatre.

And we’ll be speaking to Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre, David Byrne. Since taking the helm of the famous new-writing theatre in 2024, Byrne has continued its mission of championing new voices and innovative theatre-making, building on over a decade of his own groundbreaking work at the New Diorama Theatre. As both a celebrated playwright and advocate for emerging writers, he’ll share his vision for the future of British theatre and the stories that matter most.

Your hosts, the London Theatre Review’s trio of cultural critics – Nick Clark, Nick Curtis, and Nancy Durrant – bring decades of experience covering the capital’s theatrical landscape. From the Evening Standard’s culture desk to The Times’ arts pages, these seasoned journalists have a deep love of theatre, and plenty of big opinions.

This exclusive recording of the first episode of the podcast’s fourth season offers theatre lovers a rare opportunity to witness these conversations as they happen, with the energy and spontaneity that can only come from a live audience.
