One of the few languages that unites our world is the language of dance. At its foundation, the base upon which all movement is built, is classical ballet.
Classical ballet has a legacy spanning centuries. With its intense focus on technique and musicality and requiring strength, discipline, intellect, flexibility and superior athleticism, ballet provides the foundation for the broadest range of dance genres.
Within this highly competitive world of dance, English National Ballet School (ENBS) is widely regarded as one of the UK’s top ballet schools.
Located in the heart of Chelsea, ENBS attracts the best international young dancers. Our focus is on teaching artists and artistry, ensuring each dancer reaches their full potential, graduating into the English National Ballet and other leading companies around the world.
Each year, ENBS trains 90 of the world’s most talented young dancers, aged 16 to 19. Recruiting purely on talent and passion, ENBS ensures financial circumstances do not present a barrier to success: on average, 50% of students rely on our Scholarships and Bursaries programme to train with us.
In addition to our Senior School, our highly acclaimed Young Associates and Intensive programmes enhance a young dancer’s regular training, while giving them a taste of life at ENBS. This early focus gives aspiring young dancers, from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and beyond, valuable insight into what it takes to train at the highest level and crucially develops our talent pipeline.
English National Ballet School is committed to making ballet accessible to all children, providing them with enriching experiences that foster creativity, discipline, and self-expression. Welcoming children from the local community our weekly ballet classes bring the transformative power of dance to children from all backgrounds.
